Course Description
This training and workshop provide construction professionals with practical skills in digital quantity takeoff and project scheduling using PlanSwift and Primavera P6 Professional. The course covers the essential tools and functionalities of both software applications, enabling participants to streamline project takeoffs and develop well-structured construction schedules. Through hands-on exercises, participants will gain proficiency in efficiently managing construction project data, improving accuracy, and optimizing workflow processes.
Course Objectives
The course aims to equip participants with the technical skills needed to perform digital takeoffs and construction scheduling using PlanSwift and Primavera P6 Professional. By integrating these tools into their workflow, participants will enhance their ability to manage project documentation, organize construction activities, and maintain structured project timelines. By the end of this course, participants will be able to:
- Navigate and utilize PlanSwift efficiently, understanding its tools, tabs, and key features.
- Perform digital takeoffs, including area, linear, segment, and count takeoffs.
- Apply quantity takeoff techniques such as manipulating points, subtracting sections, and duplicating scaled pages.
- Utilize PlanSwift commands and shortcuts to improve workflow efficiency.
- Understand the fundamentals of Primavera P6, including software setup, database management, and navigation.
- Develop structured project plans using Enterprise Project Structures (EPS) and Work Breakdown Structures (WBS).
- Define and manage project activities, establish activity relationships, and assign dependencies.
- Apply the Critical Path Method (CPM) to analyze project timelines, identify float, and manage scheduling data.
- Implement resource management by assigning resources to project schedules.
Entry Competencies
This training is designed for construction professionals involved in project planning, scheduling, and quantity takeoff. Participants should have a basic understanding of construction drawings, project documentation, and scheduling concepts. While no prior experience with PlanSwift or Primavera P6 is required, familiarity with traditional takeoff and scheduling methods will be beneficial. A fundamental knowledge of construction processes and basic computer skills are recommended to maximize the learning experience.
