SeismoSpect

Signal Processing for Ground Motion Records

Signal Processing for Ground Motion Records

SeismoSpect constitutes a simple and efficient platform for signal processing that allows to create a personal library of ground motion records and save them all in a single file making it easy to handle and share large numbers of records.

SeismoSpect features a friendly graphical user interface capable of reading accelerograms saved in different text file formats (Single-value per line, Time & Acceleration values per line, Multiple-values per line, SMC format, PEER NGA format and Shake (.eq) format).

Capability of applying several filter types and to perform Baseline Correction using up to third order polynomials.

Support for 26 Code Based Spectra including the spectrum of Eurocode 8, ASCE 41 17 and other Regulations worldwide.

Capability of computing the mean spectral response of a collection of accelerograms and to compare these results with a reference spectrum*

* (users can thus combine different records in order to individuate those whose average spectrum will meet a certain reference spectrum)

Maximum acceleration, velocity and displacement

Overdamped and constant-ductility inelastic response spectra

Arias Intensity (Ia)

Cumulative absolute velocity (CAV) and specific energy density (SED)

Housner Intensity

Predominant (Tp)

Number of effective cycles

Maximum incremental velocity (MIV)

Average spectral acceleration (Sa,avg)

Effective design acceleration (EDA)

Root-mean-square (RMS) of acceleration, velocity and displacement

Characteristic Intensity (Ic)

Acceleration (ASI) and velocity (VSI) spectrum intensity

Sustained maximum acceleration (SMA) and velocity (SMV)

Significant duration

Damage index

Impulsivity index (IP Index)

Completely visual interface. No input or configuration files, programming scripts or any other time-consuming and complex text editing requirements.

Due to its full integration with the Windows environment, SeismoSpect allows for numerical and graphical results to be copied to any Windows application (e.g. MS Excel, MS Word, etc.), noting that the plots characteristics can be fully customised from within the program itself.
